The Wal-Mart corporation has an aquatics section in each one of thier stores. These sections carry mutiple breeds of fish, snails, eels, and more. There are no qualifications for the associates and/or managers who are in charge of this section. They are not required to be knowledgable about any of the breeds that they carry and are not able to inform thier customers about the diet, climate or temperment of the animal.
As if it wasn't bad enough that they have no idea what they're doing; they are also not able to comprhend the fact that these are living breathing creatures that need to be cared for. In the five Wal-Marts that I have personally visited all five of them had deplorable living arrangements for thier fish, snails, and eels. My team and I have been (all together) to over 30 Wal-Marts all over the country and each had the same living situations. The worst of all of them was at the Wal-Mart in Mentor, Ohio. Of the 20 tanks that they had 14 of them had dead, dieing, and/or decayed/decaying fish occupying the tanks. The lowest number of dead, dieing, decayed/decaying fish in the tanks was 7 in one tank and the highest number was unfortunately too high to count since the remaining fish inside the tank were scavenging thses corpses for a bite to eat. Almost every single creature occupying the tanks were extremely emaciated and the only ones that were in fair weight condition were those forced to eat the corpses of thier companions for any form of sustinence.
Wal-Mart is creating an amazing disservice to thier customers, they are raising ill and aggressive fish with no compassion for the fish, snails, and/or eels that thier customers might already have at home. Along with creating an amazing disservice to thier customers: THEY ARE ALL GUILTY OF ANIMAL CRUELTY!!! Dont let Wal-Mart get away with neglect just because they are a multi million dollar company. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIER ACTIONS!! Sign this petition!
If you see that your local Wal-Mart is putting these helpless and innocent creatures through this torture as well, talk to the managers and/or supervisors there and let them know what they're doing is wrong.
Contact Wal-Mart corporation at 1-800-925-6278

I completely agree with this... it is completely horrific, the way animals are treated in general corporate petstores. Heck, even Petsmart has some injustices!
