It has been 25 years since I last had a tropical fish tank, but did learn a lot of dont do's in the time I had the tank.
I have always wanted to start again and I believe now the time is right, however I know I am going to start with a problem, the aquarium I am considering is a wall mounted aquarium by Relaxsea. It will either be the 1860mm x 120mm x 480mm ( 155 litres ) ideal model or the 1190 mm x 470 mm x 120 mm ( 84 litre ) focus model .
I will be changing the water a lot more than the once a year advertised by the manufacturer
Therefore given the dimensions, what would you recommend as the eventual optimal community for fish and the order they should be added given that I will be buying juvenille fish and they will grow, I am looking to stock the tank over 6 months to a year. I will also try to add live plants but found this problematic in the past as the fish kept eating them
I know I could play safe with the tetra family but I was looking for more adventurous suggestions, but taking account that the fish will need to be reasonably hardy.
I am not hung up on the tank having large quantities of fish.
Also I would welcome any geneal tips regarding wall mounted aquariums
Regards
Shaun
