I hate how Wal*Mart treats their fish. But they take pretty good care of their bettas. The cups are big and have lots of air flow. Even the female bettas have big cups. The employees are stupid but they rinse out the cups and put dechlorinated water in them. They are fed every other day. All of the betta's are healthy the only problem I have seen is a little bit of fin rot.

I know most Wal*Marts are horrible. I have two in my city and one is good and the other isn't

But this is my opinion about one the walmarts i go to.

Well I've always thought walmart had no business selling fish. But they have upgraded the cup sizes and they keep species only tanks not mixing any of them.

Really the only thing my wal-mart is good for is bettas(sometimes) and they actually have little info cards for all of the fish they sell. One thing I've noticed that makes me angry is all of the dead fish for one thing and I went in there the other day and they had like 10 oscars in probably a 15 gallon tank. Though they were small and its not their permanent home its kind of cruel, Oh and they sell the red belly pacus when they are SO small, I'm afraid someones gonna buy it when its tiny and then it'll get enormous and they'll kill it or something.

The walmart near my house and in a couple other areas literally suck as far as fish keeping capabilities go. Even the bettas, if they are not sold quickly, will sit in their own filth until either they dry up, or die from ammonia burns. They should really stick to dry goods.

there is one walmart near me that takes good care of their bettas. it annoys me though because the tag says red bellied pacus only get 10" long... biig lie. lol.

anyhow, there's another older walmart nearby who put less than a half inch of water in their betta cups and don't ever change or feed them. they stay in the same one half inch or less of water until they are bought. the poor things are litterally on their sides gasping for a breath. some of the water is so dark brown you can't see the bettas. other cups have gotten just as much algae in them- you can't see those bettas either. everytime i go into that store, i take down all of the bettas, rummage around in the drawers underneath the sink to find conditioner, and change the betta water, as well as feed them. i have had employees litterally walk right past me without so much as a glance. i suppose i just kind of blend in when i'm in that section haha.

a few of my friends have gotten kicked out of walmart for scrubbing their tanks, though, LOL.

Yea my wal mart says the red bellys get 10 inches too and they sell them when they're like 1.5 inches.
