Ok, they had these little baby guppy fry and I wanted to buy them. I asked the guy there, he said he could, but he'd charge me the same price as the adults. $2.66 each? No way. That was a rip off. I'd just go to the LFS and get them like a dozen for a buck. I just wanted to have fun raising them, but not for a price that outragous.

yeah, i almost bought some fry at pet supplies *plus* but they would chard 2.99$ like the adults and tey couldnt sell them anyway because of a warranty. grr

Heres a good idea. Go to the petstore and buy a pregnant female. Get 15+ for the price of one. :hey:

I agree with Wal-mart being dumb. They always fail to amaze me.

I also agree with buying a pregnant female! Their incompetent organization is incapable of raising anything. Save the fry!

Some WalMarts are OK. I complained to the one around here, and they stepped it up a notch. The fish tanks are always clean, and the fish are in the proper conditions. It's a start. They still sell large fish, and aggressive fish though, with no labeling. :X

I don't think it's fair to buy a heavily pregnant female, though, as the move is quite stressful for them. I'd say, buy a female and she will soon be heavily pregnant. :p

Yeah, I went to wal-mart the other day to pick up food for the mice, and this poor old man in a wheel chair was talking to the guy that worked in the fish department, and he was asking for some goldfish, and asked why they kept dying. The guy that worked there said "Well, its probably cuz you have the water too warm, they like colder water" and I was just about to butt in and say "Hmm, maybe its because you got the fish here, or is it because your keeping 10 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank, when you should really only have one, because they are dirty fish", but im to shy and went on my merry way with a dirty look on my face as I walked by LOL

True but you could be taking it away from a stressful situation. I've done this a couple times in the past with no problems.
