For the third day in a row, i've woken up to a dead fish that's been half eaten.

Twice now it's been small female preacox's and 1 small rummynose on another day.

Has anyone any idea why?

Current stats:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 40
89US Gal

Stocking:
Bosemani rainbows (6), praecox rainbows (6), rummynose tetras (6), lemon tetras (7), dwarf gourami (1), betta splenden (1), bristlenose (1), cherry barbs (13)

I know that the Bosemani's are tireless eaters and have a big appitite, but I have had the odd eaten fish before I got them, I would imagine due to the preacox's.

Currently I feed my fish around 8am, and then again at around 6pm. Should I try moving my feeding time later in the evening? Or leaving a couple of wafers in for the fish to nibble at instead of fish?

This is not good

Almost all fish will eat dead fish.

The ones which died, most probably did due to natural causes. They don't generally look stressed, do they? None of the fish are always hiding?

Also be careful with the Betta and gourami.. they normally are not compatible due to aggression, but should be ok in a tank as big as yours.

p.s. would be nice to see an updated photo, with the new plants and background, if you already got it!

Hello all, I have not long started my tank it is a 140 litre tank. I started this tank with 10 harlequin 6 head tail light tetra 10 danios and 4 yoyo loaches and 2 aquatic frogs. Couple weeks down the line my frogs died was told this is normal they mite have just not acclimatized. So another week past and I tried to introduce new fish 10 neons 2 more frogs 2 algae eaters 1 khahri loach a think it's called. Since then my fish have been disappearing my khahri loach died within hours, the yoyo loaches were looking as though there were attacking it. I over a week now am down to 1 neon and have lost my frogs and am down to 1 algae eater but strangely there is no remains. The only thing I have seen is the yoyo loaches eating 2 tetra. I have also lost 1 of my larger danios. Water ph and heat are nominal this us my first tank do i am worried am I nit caring for them right?

Don't double post, I have replied to your other one, but you should really start your own topic.
