I like VT's just fine - don't happen to have any, but I think they are nice looking fish.
My daughter--in-law has the most beautiful (IMO) vt she purchased last summer from Wal-Mart. He is a teal color with a burgundy wash on his fins. He is small, but absolutely perfect.
When I first saw him at her house he was living in a little bowl without any heat or anything - and VERY lethargic - so much so that people often thought he was dead! She had him housed like that because they told her she could and she didn't know any better. Well, along came "Mom" to the rescue - LOL!
I had a 4 gal. tank I wasn't doing anything with at the time, so I gave it to her. Along with a heater, a Whisper In-Tank Micro filter, some gravel, a couple of silk plants, some good quality food and a hunk of hornwort. And, of course, a syphon for tank cleaning and explained the importance of keeping his water clean (which, thankfully, she does).
She is now absolutely AMAZED at how active he is & the next time I was over there, he had a nice bubble nest going.
