This is my glass knifefish (Eigenmannia Virsecens). I've had her for about four months. She lives in my planted fluval 125 with some albino bronze cory, cherry barbs, harlequin rasbora and some other peaceful fish. She spends most of her day under the massive lotus, hanging around with my glass catfish. I feed her a mixture of flakes, pellets and frozen foods normally at night. I tend to target feed her, as she often gets shies away from the boisterous cory. She's very interesting to watch, especially when she swims backwards, she also seems to have a higher level of intelligence than the average fish.

This is my eldest male Daisys Blue Ricefish (Oryzias woworae). Currently living with a group of other Daisys in my 60L cube and a thriving colony of Neocardina shrimp. I've had this fish since July 2024, and it is the father to around 3/4 of the tank population. Sadly, one eye has gone cloudy due to a battle wound, but this doesn't seem to impact the fish. Feeding is done every day in small amounts using my 4 pellet combo mix. I do treat the fish to frozen copepods as well. I usually find this fish in the morning, sparring with the other males, which is an interesting watch as the colours really come through.

This is Candy Man whom Iโ€™m nominating for fish of the month. He is a Czech-derived morph of Apistogramma cacatuoides. The Czech breeders call the morph lemon candy. Candy Man lives in a 20 gallon, densely planted tank with a female named Candy. She is quite a bit smaller and completely lemon yellow in coloration. The two fish appear to enjoy each otherโ€™s company and are gentle with each other. I got lucky. There are 4 coconut caves in the tank if the pair choose to spawn. Candy Man and Candy share the tank with 10 Glowlight tetras.

I present - babies in a growout tank. These are Nothobranchius palmqvisti, an East African (Kenyan) annual killifish. Last week these guys had zero colour, and here's a male just putting on his grown up suit. He'll triple that size, and hopefully live another 8-9 months. By then, I should have several collections of eggs, which hatch in around 3 months. The show will continue.

The Dutch aquarist who sent me eggs to get them started has had them generation after generation for over ten years. It isn't the most colourful "Notho" out there, but it's a nice mid range one I've wanted since a local member was breeding them 25 years ago. I've bred other Nothos, so I hope I can keep them going for a long time.

I have about 30 in a 24 inch tank with minimal planting.

This is one of the larger hatchet fishes known as g. maculatus - he lives with a few other g. maculatus and some c. strigata as well as some a. norbert and b. wavarni. I posted the picture of the b. wavarni here (https://www.fishforums.net/threads/...-from-the-past-week-or-so.491884/post-4385357) but they are very young - smaller than the male(s) a. norbert so they don't have much colour yet but one day in a few years they will colour up.

This guy loves to taunt me - every morning when i feed the fishes he and his friends will make fun of me and then gobble down as much food as possible. They love to eat. Unlike their friends c. strigata they are not so much into jumping and prefer to stay wet.

As for water conditions measured this morning ec 27, ph below 6 and temp around 78. The b. wavarni like it warm hence 78 is the lower limit. Problem with mixing species.
