About 3 weeks ago a fish of mine got ich and died, at the same time a couple endler guppys also seemed to have ich. Since then the other fish in the tank have gone to a new tank and shown no signs whatsoever.

Since this time, the two endler guppys still look as though they have whitish/silverish marks on them and white top fins:

Can a fish usually survive for 3 weeks with visible ich?

I'm starting to think it might not be ich and just their markings.

If it were ich, shouldnt they be dead or cured by now? (i have used white spot med on them a few times)

The reason I'm asking this question is, if it's likely ich would have killed them by now and therefore it might not be ich, i'll put them in the main tank with the others and end their time as social rejects.

So just to reiterate my question... After ich appears on the body of a fish as white dots... how long do fish usually live after that?

Whitespot look like the fish has been sprinkled in salt.
White marks can be columnaris to parasite.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
White edging to fins can be finrot.
Need to look at your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

I have endlers with white spots on their fins-it could be markings-mine are-try a whitespot dose again to see if they disappear.....
