Vitamin Supplement

If you are talking about a vitamin supplement to add to the water, I dont think any of them do much of anything at all. There is virtually no evidence (outside of a manufacturer's claims) that fish uptake vitamins out of the water. The solution is to feed them a variety of food and make sure that they are getting all that they need. Most processed foods are vitamin enriched, and the list is usually on the container -- so, a combo of processed, fresh and frozen foods should deliver plenty of vitamins.

I use Vitazin by waterlife and my fish seem pretty healthy. I've been using it since I got my tanks so I can't give you a with/without comparison. IMHO It cant do any harm so why not! Also I have heard that instead of puting it straight into the water, a good way of using it is to put a few drops onto flakes before feeding, this would i suppose ensure they ingest the vitamins rather than get them out of the water which Bignose says they can't do. But as Bignose implied, adding vitamins is no way a subsitute for a good diet, but should be a compliment to it.

I personally believe that if you feed your fish a full and varied diet, there should be no need for adding any extra vitamins. I think this is just the manufacturers way of making even more money out of us fishkeepers.
If you research what your fish should be eating.......then that should be all they need. A bit like us humans really........if we eat a balanced diet,it should provide all the vitamins and nutrients we need.......... :)
