This the link to my other thread http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=110034

I've just been on the phone and explained my situation to the guys at Waterlife and they're now saying to double dose with Myxazin even though i have 5 day old fry.

This all started with the new female platies that came in and one had already had mouth rot. :(

Since they've come in i've had white cotton wool on my male blue guppy, silver guppy tail ripped could be tail rot, two new female platies just died, one dropsy the other no known cause, and there is now flicking going on.

I'm never bringing fish in again without quarantining.

a lot of aquarium treatments greatly reduce the oxygen carrying capacity of water.
in your other thread (there was really no need to start a new one btw) you say your platy started having breathing problems shortly after starting treatment.
one thing i would always recommend is adding an air stone to any tank that is undergoing this sort of treatment. this should help keep dissolved oxygen levels up.

as to your hospital/quarantine tank question in the other thread, there are a few options.

1 - keep the tank running 24/7 with a couple of hardy fish in it to keep things ticking over.

2 - have the filter for the hospital tank running in the main tank when it's not in use.

3 - don't run any sort of biological filtration. just rely on daily water changes to prevent build up of pollution.

Do a few daily water changes on the tank, plus for columnaris in the uk you have to use a bacteria med with a fungus one, good luck.
