I've been reading this thread - very sorry Whiskerz, and Boink . She is a lovely fish, and the piccies you took were lovely.
I was just thinking as I read these posts, isn't it funny how we all get so upset when one of our fishy friends dies, and the rest of us here all start fussing and saying 'sorry for your loss'...and everything. This just proves to non-fishkeepers who think fish are boring that they are beautiful little creatures and everyone can get very attatched to them
Does anyone else agree, or was that a pointless mushy outpour...!!? )

I agree with what your saying some people don't realize how special they really are like my older brother for example....he's always complaining that I have too many tanks and that my bedroom floor is gonna colapse and he says it's stupid that I keep so many, I only have 10 and 8 of them are 1 - 2.5 gallon tanks Too bad bettas don't bite that hard. If they did, I'd stick his face in the tank

I agree. I become attached, even though I've got way too many. I don't have enough time to watch and interact with them given my choice. I'm sorry for your loss. I went through my first encounter with fish jumping out a few months back. I had a gold pair in the spawn tank, and it didn't work out, so I removed the female and placed her in a cup of the heated water, and was waiting to put her in her regular container. Well, I forgot to put the lid on the cup, and I ended up going to bed. In the morning my golden girl, my favorite female, was on the floor dried up and dead. I cried. I felt sooo bad. It was my fault for forgetting the lid. Goes to show, one mistake and bam. I ended her life. I am anal about lids now on everything that has bettas in it. I even put my hand over the nets when transfering so there are no jumpers then.

boink jumped up and bit my nose once , my best memory of her is when you added the new ones and they were half her size and the 1 picked at boink and she turned and looked at her as if she was saying "ooh you little b*tch" then picked back at her

I'm sorry for all your losses. No matter how little they may be, our bettas bring a ray of sunshine into our hearts, and it's a bit darker without them there.
