Hi I have a sick fish on one eye, it has what appears to be a cloudy white film over the whole eye area it looks to be some kind of fungus. I have isolated the puffer, and it doesnt seem to be eating either.

I have 3 dwarf puffers and a bigger one in the tank with some guppys. They have all been together for over 4 months with no probs at all. I think its a 10 gallon tank but i am not that hot on those kind of things. all the other fish are ok.

can anyone help with what i should do.

I am in the uk.

Thanks

vikki

Is it a dwarf puffer that is sick, or another diferent type. Puffer are very fussy about water conditions.

hi thanks for reply, its a bigger puffer cant remember its name, i have just tested water and results are

ph is lower than 6.4
kh is 0
gh is 6d
no 2 is 0
no 3 is 50

there are exactly as they are always no difference i test the water all the time. no spikes in any of the areas you would expect.

What your tap nitrate reading to see if you can get that nitrate any lower.
You will need to treat the eye i would try melafix first.
Cloudy eye is a symtom of a desease rather than a desease in its self, water quality problems, stress, poor diet, old age, parasites, to bacterial infecttions.
Not good if the fish isn't eating.
