Very Pregnant Swordtail!

Well I am off out on a family trip to Mablethorpe, but just before I leave I thought I would tell you what I have seen this morning. I knew my Swordtails were getting pregnant every month, but didn't really bother with the pregnancies, but this one was too good to miss! She must be the largest I have ever seen her, or any other of my livebearers as a matter of fact!

I have placed her in a large breeding trap for now , As I don't have time to transfer her to my pregnancy tank, but if I get back tonight and she hasn't dropped any I will consider moving her then.

I will keep you updated and post any pictures whenever I can!

Its not good news at all im afraid, I have just got back to find her lying on her side, with a hint of red in her gravid spot. She is right at the top of the trap, with part of her body out the water - so it looks like a major problem with the pregnancy.

Its a real shame, not just for her, but looking at her stomach from the new angle, I would estimate at least 50 fry in her, maybe more. Sadly it looks like I will lose all the fry, and the mother - unless she miraculasly gives birth and recovers - seems unlikely at this point though.

I think its too late to save her now, but does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make her most comfortable, any help appreciated...
