Hi all,
My 10l baby tank is farrrrrrrrrrr too small and my little danios are growing quicker than I thought they would, so I went in search of a bigger tank and bought a 100l one (complete with air stone, segregation box, fluval external filter system, thermometer, net, worm feeder, internal heater and attachments for £55 - bargainous!) The tank is now taking over my room and I love it!
I took the fluval filtration system to my local aquarium shop and asked the guy there to test it and thoroughly explain it to me as it had no instructions with it. He didn't need to explain anything because after and hour of fiddling and getting his shop floor very wet, it turns out it doesn't work and buying the replacement parts would cost more than buying a new filter. So I bought a 'maxi aqua one, 104F' internal filter.
I now have the tank set up and running on it's fishless cycle doing all the relevant tests daily, but the filter sounds like a small tractor (is on lowest setting), and is quite frankly driving me insane!!! I have hypersensitive hearing anyway - but even my mother says it's loud! Is there any way to make this "quiet and efficient" filter quieter?! This is gonna cost me a fortune in decent ear plugs!
Oooh but baby danios all raced to the big tank side of their little tank when I switched it on - methinks they wanna go play there - they'll have to wait though!!!
