:shout:  Please help. These are our first cories and we are at a loss here. We have one albino cory who is lethargic and antisocial. He also does not seem to be eating. He is a new addition of just over a week along with the other cories all purchased together and the others are doing well. He's been this way since purchase and outside of lethargy, and possibly clamped fins has no other symptoms or signs of any problems.

Tank size:20 gallon
pH:8.2
ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate: less than 5
kH:unknown
gH:unknown
tank temp:76-78 degrees

Fish Symptoms: Lethargic, Albino Cory somewhat clamped fins (definitely not as erect as the fins of our other albino cories)He is not eating or socializing with the other cories, but still hanging in there. He pretty much picks a spot in the tank and just sits perfectly still. He's a new addition to our aquarium. Purchased with 3 other Albino Cories and 2 panda Cories all of whom are doing great and seem very active. We've had him for just over a week and he's pretty much been this way since purchase. When we first purchased all of the cories at the LFS looked healthy. On returning to the LFS the next day there were several in the tank he came from acting in the same way he has been.

We tried treating with maracyn and maracyn two concurrently (only used this for 3 days instead of 5 as he seemed to really start going downhill on day three) Next we tried a water change and fungus clear by Jungle since it said it treats clamped fins. Both times in a hospital tank with no improvement or change in behavior. We put him back in the main tank and are not sure if this was the right move, but we were worried the lack of any other cories might add to his depression. Also worried he might make his otherwise healthy tankmates sick as well. Please advise. We want desperately to help him! We also have tetracycline if this would help but have not tried any additional meds at this point.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 50% weekly

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:We use only Prime as our water conditioner with water changes. Tank is fully cycled and doing well.

Tank inhabitants: All inhabitants are very peaceful and have been together for a few months, the cories are a new addition and all but this one are doing well. In our tank we have 1 male crowntail betta, 8 cherry barbs, 1 lone neon tetra (the survivor of a start up disease outbreak) and 4 albino (which includes our albino sicky) and 2 panda cories.

Recent additions to your tank : The cories in question are new additions of just over a week now. All are doing well aside from this one albino. We are hoping to add a couple of panda cories to the two we have but can't get any at our LFS at the moment.

Exposure to chemicals: None

Corys are more prone to bacterial infections.
Any red streaking or sores on his body.
Check his barbels the whiskers to see if there short and thin .

No red streaking or sores of any kind. His barbels were also fine. He passed this morning poor baby...but if anyone has any suggestions as to whether I should be concerned about the other tank mates please let me know. At this point everyone else seems fine..and water parameters etc. are all great. I hate it when you just can't seem to pull them through. :(

Bless him. R.I.P.
hard to say what he died of to be honest.
I would preform a water change on your tank with a fish dying.

Just did a HUGE water change and a good gravel vac. The others seem to be doing well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help!

Good luck.
Try not to do huge water changes as it stresses the fish and also can swing water stats to fast.
