I just saw this post and had to comment. I think I can speak for the majority of the members here on this issue. I know most people find these forums when they are researching a problem they are having with their tanks. They are frustrated and most want answers immediately. That is not always possible. We all have lives to live. We are wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, workers, and aquarium owners. We don't sit infront of our computers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If we did, we'd never get anything done.
Every question is important. Every problem needs to be addressed. None of us get paid to answer questions and give advice. We do it to help other aquarium owners. Nothing makes me happier than to be able to help someone thru a crisis. I recently had a problem with my angelfish. I thought I knew what the problem was, but I wanted a second opinion. I didn't get any replies, right away. It wasn't because no one cared. They were busy or didn't see my post. There is nothing wrong with bumping your post up so more people see it, or posting it in another appropriate section.
I belong to several aquarium forums. When I found this one, it made me very happy. Instead of having people who don't even know what cycling is calling me stupid and telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, I found a place that values my opinions. I am no expert, but I have been keeping aquariums longer than most forum members have been alive. I think I can be of some use to others. There are no aquarium clubs in the area I live in so this forum is very important to me. I value ALL advice I recieve. I may not agree with all of the answers I recieve, but I am open to new ideas, and I always thank everyone that gives their opinion, whether I agree with them or not.
This forum is one of the most helpful I have found. It is certianly the friendliest. I have found most of the advice is very good. The moderators are always helpful and most of the time things run rather smoothly. Patience is the key. We all value our water friends and want what is best for them. If you don't get an answer right away to your problem, bump up your post, post it where you think it will recieve the most attention, and do research. While you are waiting for an answer to your problem, try to google it. Try searching the forum for the problem you are having. But please be patient.
Thank you for reading my rant for the day. I hope I haven offended anyone. As I said before, the only reason I am here is to help others.
