I just so happen to wonder in my room right in the middle of my Kribensis spawning!

Check out the video! Sorry, it is a bit blurry.

:good: thats lovely to see, nice Kribs you have

Your lucky! I have never witnessed my kribs laying eggs. You have a beautiful female! The males not to shabby himself!

Thanks a lot! I know, I just walked into the room to check on them and I saw it happen!

They were at it for about 2-3 hours! No joke! I could not believe it when I walked in an hour later and they were still going at it!

I guess it takes a long time for her to lay all her eggs! It looks like there a lot of eggs this time! I am hoping for over 50 eggs, if not more!

She looks big enought to lay up to 150 eggs, in my opinnion.
Wow, that's awesome!

I really hope she laid a lot of them then!

All I know is there are A LOT of eggs in the cave where she laid... too many for me to count. I will just have to wait and see how many babies there are when they are free swimming!

Thanks for the reply!

The eggs are beginning to hatch and enter the "Wiggle" state...lol.

Should be free swimming in about 5 days.

5 days? It should only take 3. Everytime I breed fish, within 7 days of spawning, there are fry swimming all over the place.

Oh, well the last two batches it has taken exactly 5 days for the fry to become free-swimming?

IDK... I guess we will see within 5 days, not at 5 days...lol.

I bet that they were free swimming at 3 days., When they first become free swimming, they don't swim much. They kinda hover.

Congratz on your new eggs/wrigglers.
Just to ask which species of (breeding) cichlid would i be able to have in a 2ft tank. I was told i could have a pair of kribensis and not that i don't like them but i would like a different pair. Thanks in advance.

For a 2 foot tank, a pair of Kribensis would be perfect, other than that, there are really not many other kinds of Cichlids you could keep in a 2 foot tank other than some Rams.

@Krib, It says 8 hours and 7 minutes...lol... according to mapquest.
