I have two paradise gouramis in a 55 gal tank. One is so aggressive and chunky he makes the other one stay in the corner of the tank. I have had them for two months and presently only have besides them one butis butis, and two blood parrots. I have in quarantine two tiger loaches and a decorative pleco. cant add for another month they had ick when I bought them. Made it through but need a nother month of quarantine without medication.

I have tried arranging plants and decor differently. REcently they gave each other small flesh wounds. Which I promptly added the aquarium product for stress with aloe and melafix cleared up in two days.

I hate to get rid of the really mean one, but I'm starting to run out of options. I also tried to look up their sexes, one has pointed fin and other more rounded. I think it is the female being aggressive to the male, maybe?.

I feel bad bringing the mean one back to LFS, If I do this should I only keep one or get smaller one.

What to do.

They would both be male if they are actualy fighting each other. If it is just aggressive chasing, you may have a male chasing a female. Honestly, I would remove the less aggressive fish and give it a chance in a different tank. I seriously doubt you have a female chasing a male BTW - unless they are very different ages. Do you have pictures?
