I bought 2 veiltail boys from this LFS a couple of weeks ago

The shop boy put them in the same bag  and 2 days after I brought them hope, the white BF was dead. They replaced him with a cello boy, but when I got him home he was sick with white spot and fin-munch, which I've been treating and although he is thin, he is perking up.

Now today, the original other cello boy, who has been very perky until now, was hiding all day. He has just emerged from his cave with a very curled round tail and darting about like a lunatic. What could this mean in terms of what illness do these symptoms represent? Water quality is not a problem, he is even in the only filtered tank I run for my bettas [bar the PK who's in the commumity tank]

obviously there is something wrong with him, darting around like a maniac and out of fashion can also be a sign of the first stages of swim bladder, this would prob suggest why he's been hiding alot, would treat him with a boiled pea or fast him for 4 days to see if this sorts the problem out, as for the curled fin it could just be thats hes been lying on it for the period of time that he went into hiding, if he is swimmming mega fast with slight jerking moments then it is like to be as i said, swim bladder. good luck with him, ive had this before and simply fasted them for 4 days and it passed with no more problems.

'twas too late Daz, he had died by the time I went to bed last night
My only 2 bettas who died both came from the same shop - I have a third as you know, so just waiting for him to go too now! He looks bloody awful compared to the others!

R.I.P. MYLO Xx

so sorry to hear that, fingers crossed and a prayer for the other one.

sorry for your loss got my fingers crossed for your other fella i hope he makes it!!

Yikes! I'm pretty new at my LFS and sometimes feel like I know nothing, but at least I don't bag two fish together that weren't happily swimming around in the same tank unless I know for sure that they would be okay together.

Sounds like they don't have the healthiest bettas. It could be their care or just coming from a bad supplier... either way I'd stop buying from them. Sorry about your fish!

poor fish...you just get really rubbishy shops sometime. best not to go in them!
