Should I start feeding my fish cucumber and stuff like that? And if so how should I prepare it?

Roughage is good for fish.

I feed mine either cucumber slices just dropped in as is weighted down with some lead weights once a week or peas which I boil until soft and de-shell and squish in between my fingers before dropping in the tank.
They like all sorts of veggies just experiment a bit and see. Zuchinni is also a favourite, just boiled a little and dropped in the tank.

So you don't boil the cucumber? I'll probably use cucumber first

No just pop it in. Cucumber is mainly water so its not as beneficial as peas or zuchinni.

so then y do i have to boil the peas and zucchini? and does any pea work?

Peas and zuchini are boiled or blanched to soften them, you can also blanch cucumber if you prefer but it will soften in the tank anyway after an hour or so.

If feeding peas, they need to be de-shelled and only feed the inside part.

With cucumber you can either feed a chunk of it and weigh it down using a weight or a thing called screwcumber which can be bought on ebay, alternatively you can feed thin slices of cucumber which will float, fish will tend to eat the middle and leave the skin outer.

Whatever you put in the tank, ensure you remove any uneaten bits within 24/48 hours max

ok thanks

Blanching is boiling something briefly, cooling it with icey water then reheating slowly. This preserves flavour

Most veg you can just either boil or stick in microwave for 10/20 secs
