i have an arcadia 4 tube t5 unit with 2 blue and 2 white, just wondering is changing to 3 blue and 1 white or other variations i could increase the intensity of the lighting to better suit inverts that prefer halide lighting ie clams etc.

of course halides are a the ideal option but my inlaws (where the tank is kept) spent £400 on these lights only 6 months ago, sort of in a postion where i want to upgrade but cant if you know what i mean. (unless anyone wants to buy them...)

I asked the same thing and done that also and the tank looks alot better! more blue but not too much so it still looks very bright in the tank.

thanx for the info, so what would you recomend 3 blue tubes and one white?

Yer you can still keep most types of LPS corals and i think the colouration is better. Only issue u have to pay more on bulb replacement well extra 5 quid.

awesome by the looks of it we have near identical tanks lol i have a rio 240 with the same lights as you, have you tried clams in yours?

Lol, great minds think alike then  . Urm no not yet but i am thinking of one soon looking for a like 4 inch one, but i did see one today but it was a bit small and i herd it can be dodgy plus im not clever yet with magnesium.
If you wanna see my tank click on the link below ive just about to update as im redoing a load of my tank. Note the tank isnt that blue like in the pics its just my camera.

Yeah, my camera struggles with the actinic lighting too. Have to force the color settings on it to get it to work
