Is there a diffrence between a 2-way Air Control Valve and a 2-way gang valve?

Also (I feel so dumb) what do I need an air pump for? I know to oxigninate the water, but how (and what else)? In aerating ornaments or what?

Thanks,

-Logan

An air pump, as you know, is attached to an air stone. When the air is pumped through this porous material, bubbles are formed.

Air pumps can provide water circulation as well, and many people who have breeding set-ups use a simple air stone for both circulation and aeration so fry have high oxygen levels, and detritus does not sit on the bottum polluting the tank water.

I dont think there is a dif. between a 2way control valve and a gang valve. Im not 100% certain though.

Yes, you can power ornaments by an air pump, but ornaments in a tank can stress fish.

Hope i answered you questions! :)

You did, and thanks!

One more quick question:

Will ANY ornaments in the tank stress fish? Or only aerating ones?

(I'm only asking because I have this really cool looking old castle I want to sit in there. It's a good size, and its flat on the back so I can have it directly on the back glass of the tank. I was going to put lots of silk plants in front and beside it to hide it a little. It has some swim-throughs in it and a little cave attached....I figured the hiding space would be good for the fish, not stressfull).

Thanks,

-Logan

Ornaments that provide hiding places are good. It's only ones which move or make unexpected movements (like those treasure chests whic pop open every now and again) which may stress some fish.
