Hi guys picked up one amazon sword plant and one what the guy called vallis but it didnt have a label any how i was wondering i have position the vallis were the water comes out of the over head filter so the top of the plant is moving about quite abit with the current is this bad or make no difference to the plant

cheers

It may not grow so well if it is the direct path of the water flow. Vallis is quite demanding in terms of light so anything which may hinder is worth avoiding i.e. waving leaves. Another point worth noting is that if your filter agitates the water surface then it is likely to drive of essential CO2. You could try re-directing your filter outlet if possible.

LOL. I wish!!!!

I have my val in the back corners of my tank where they grow like 2-3 inches each day. Drives me nuts having to trim them all the time. Not to mention the 10 runners one of my bunches has sent out :p

Are you saying if I put it more in the filter stream that it won't send out as many runners and not grow as quick? Perhaps thats a plan -_-

:p I have two types of vallis. One medium sized and one thin vallis. My thin vallis is placed in the optimum light position i could find, which is next to my filter. They have grown exponentially. Its unbelievanble. But ive recently placed my medium vallis away from the flow and they are doing equally well. Valllis likes a constant flow but obvioulsy not too overpowering! Which reminds me, ive got to go replant one that has started to float... :D
