Hey my vallis is kind of taking control of the surface of my water so i want to trim it, will this affect the plant and also can i replant the trimmings?

When my vallis get to 'long' i.e. the longest leaves are lying 'flat' on the water surface, I remove the whole of the long leaf right from the bottom of the plant - rather than trimming them (imo the leaves look odd cut straight accross)... the shorter remaning leaves will soon fill the gaps...

If you replant the trimmings, they won't grow.
Vallis sends out runners with roots, so you can replant that.
Vallis is not like stem plants, i.e - you can make cuttings and replant them, and they'll grow.
HTH.

I just made the cuttings and threw them in the bin before i read this message :(
