HI, I'm not to happy with the growth and look of the vallis nana in the two corners of my tank and I'm considering replacing them with a stemmed plant, mainly Rotala sp 'green' which I think would quickly give a lush green backdrop to the tank.

This is its current look, the photos about 1 week old.

If I do replace the plants I may keep some vallis in the far two corners behind the stem plants, there is some crypt balansae in the left hand corner which will defiantly stay.

I'd be replacing it with mainly rotala sp green http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumap...amp;spec=Rotala but I’m thinking of using another stem plant just as an accent to the rotala. I don't want anything to red as this could spoil the overall look just a nice bronzy coloured plant I was thinking of something like ludwigia brevipes http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumap...ails.php?id=141

Let me know what you think

Rotala Rotundifolia could work well in this tank. My stems only start to blush red when they get over 30cm, but the lower leaves are small and delicate with a bronze coloured vein down the centre. Provided you kept it pruned it could look nice in your set up.

If not, how about Didiplis Diandra. I have some of this on order for my 120l.

Cheers, Dave.

Corin castle the ph is around neutral the vallis is certainly growing ok but it just isn't looking how I wanted it to. It is Pogostemon helferi on the left I’ve found it very easy to grow out of all the plants it is growing the best as long as you give it high light, co2 of regular ferts it should be no trouble and I'd certainly recommend it.

Dave I am considering Didiplis but I don't think I can get enough height out of it with out looking below par, I may use some as a accent, maybe a small bunch on the right of the right hand rock.

Any thought on plants I should use as contrasts to the rotala sp green, ones I'm considering are Ludwigia Arcuata and Brevipes, Mayaca sp. Didiplis and Rotala Indica and Wallichii odviously not all just around three, I'm currently thinking of a few stem of Wallichii surrounded by the sp green on the left and on the right I'm thinking of 1/4 Indica, 1/4 Brevipes and 1/2 sp green.
