Some of my vallis has a couple of winding vine sort of stems growing up. Are these what you guys refer to as 'runners'? Why are they growing upwards instead of into the gravel?

hi, they are the flower stalks i believe. not exactly sure how they grow, but i'm sure you will get more info. :good:

yep totally natural. shows the plant is healthy. the runners will go along the substrate (some under the substrate) and new plantlets will form, they are different.

be careful though as your plant will put alot of effort into trying to flower now (most never make it) so watch out that leaves dont start dying. if they do, snip the flower bit off so it can concentrate on growing and being healthy.
