V2 Nano Skimmer

Sorry to bring yet another skimmer question to the forum but I am really interested in using the V2 nano skimmer. It just seems that if a skimmer is used the water in the tank looks a lot clearer as well as stabilising water chemistry. Does anyone use it? Where have you put it in the tank? I was looking at the middle chamber at the back but I think it is too tight a squeeze. Can you use them with the standard canopy on, I'm not sure if there is enough clearance at the top? How far above the water does it have to be?

Any comments would be gratefully received.

Thanks for the thread, Will. Did you buy one in the end? I really don't want to modify my hood if I can help it. I may wait until I get the MH upgrade and then put one in. I was thinking of a small sump, I have a 10-12 litre breeding tank which I thought might be sufficient? I dunno, I'll play with the ideas for a little while and see what happens. Many thanks again.

Ive got a jbj 24 gal nano ive modded my hood to fit the v2 120 in the middle chamber and it works loke a dream,ive tried the fission skimmer b4 but it were no good.BUY THE V2

Ive brought a v2 120 nano skimmer an it works like a dream ime realy glad i got it now. Had mine up and running nearly 2 weeks now and its not starting to settle in. All my corals look much healthier now aswell. Mine is fitted to a 20g long tank with no hood so just clips on the side.

I got a V2 nano skimmer today since I have found three examples of the skimmer in situ apparently working. I am REALLY fed up since I can not get it to work !!!! It fits beautifully into the middle chamber on the 24g D&D but the water level has to be REALLY low ( about half empty or full depending how you look at it ) and it is incredibly difficult to stabilise the water level after you have got the right level! I tried to mod the air inlet with some air tubing and that didn't work!! How in god's name are people using this skimmer without having to modify the hood?? I am so confused. Any help PLEASE!!!

You need to mod your hood it fits between the 2 fans on the 24g jbj nano like a glove ill post pics if you want.

I don't skim. I use water changes. My water is clean. I have zero nitrates. You don't need to skim a nano reef if you can develeop good water keeping skills and other natural methods to clean up the water. JMO.

did u take out filters in middle chamber? if so is it ok 2 run tank with no filter sponge in middle chamber? have my v2 in 3rd chamber and have loads ov air bubbles in tank how do u stop this? thanks.
