Hi again

I am looking to run the above skimmer and shall be hanging it on the side of the tank.
Can anybody please tell me any dimensions for this skimmer so i can work out if it will fit in the gap at the side of my tank or not?

cheers everyone

Lee

They also take up alot of space inside the tank with the pump and bubble boxes etc I dont rate the as HOB jobs good in a sump though have you checked out the deltec dmc300

Mark, the only deltec i can find is the MCE300 is this the one as oppsed to DMC300??

The deltec would be a nice option really, i shall look into wether i could stretch to this.
Does anyone know if the deltec is a quiet skimmer.
I am after a very quiet skimmer if possible.

how big is the tank
i have a tmc 2v 400 i think it works wonders i wet skim and empty the top every or sometimes every other evening
i have a pic somwhere but cant seem to come across it but if yor tank is 60 gall or more i really to recommened one of these

i will take a pic tomoz when lights are on to show you

i really rate the TMC V2's i run the 600 and you really cant beat it for the money. yeah there are some bulky pumps in the tank but you get used to them in the corner.

my V2 is really quiet, the MCE300 looks alot like the red sea jobbie to me, i had a red sea and it was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. spend your money on the V2, you won't be dissapointed.

Deltec is nothing like the red sea crap. I had a v2 400 and there good skimmers but crap for HOB unless you dont care with you have sitting inside or outside your tank. Go for the deltec I run one on my tank as a HOB there very quiet and brilliant.

our v2 400 is very good but it is noisy as hell and takes up too much room in teh tank, it'll hopefully go on the sump if we ever get round to setting it up

Yep they are good skimmers but I wouldnt use them as HOB only inside a sump as miss wiggle has pointed out if your looking to use it as a HOB look at the Deltec range you wont be dissapointed here is a few pics of mine for you to see.

This is what it looks like on the tank

Tell Deltec your due your commision, you've just sold them another skimmer! :good:

Looks good, think i will go with that, what kind of sized gap do you have down the skimmer side of the tnak mate?

4" wide? is that from front to back or left to right?

Im needing to find out how deep the unit is so i can work out how big a space i need at the side of my tank before i buy it?

And by the way, your tank is looking excellent too!

Which deltec model is it you have? the 300? If so, what wattage is the unit?
And what powerheads are you running?

Lee

im running the mc300 and have 2x maxi jet 1200 its about 4" in depth i.e your tank will be 4" from the wall due to the skimmer.

Top stuff! better start searching for prices now then.
Do you know the wattage by any chance?
