Just wondering if anyone knows what wattage UV sterilizer is needed for a 180l fishtank and also how helpful they actually are?

8,11 or 15 should be OK or that size. Chec to mae sure you can find replacement bulbs to fit the unit before buying.

My uv sterilizer is a 5 watt on a 36g tank and it helps alot to clear up the algae I had green water and in 3 days it cleared it up right away. It is a submariner uv sterilizer and it goes in you tank so you dont have to worry about connecting it to your filter.

Maidenhead aquatics do it. You normally have to ask at the counter. A lot of LFS that sell ponds will also stock it. I get mine for my vectron (v1) 8w for my 14 gall tank lol. (TOTAL OVERKILL)
