Uv Or Black Lite?

I have a light and its either uv or black lite but im not sure... It makes anything white glow purple....

Can i use black lite for my aquarium night light? If its UV then i know theres no point..

Are they not the same thing? Is black light not another name for UV light.

I think UV light bulbs are quite expensive - either way, im not too sure that it would fit in with a fish arrangement?
