I asked a few weeks ago if I could leave my uv light on 24/7 and the answere was yes. So my question now is if I could hook it uo to my light timer and just run it for 8 hours a day so that the equipment and light will not get worn down. It should still do its job in 8 hours correct?

Well yea your correct but... remember the only thing you really gotta replace every 6 months is the uv light... 30$ , maybe the quartz sleeve but if your buying this piece of hardware for you tank then you might as well run it 24/7. Just think your only running it 1/3 of it's potential so your really only killing 1/3 of the things you want... only using 1/3 of the capability.

So to answer your question is yes... you can only run it for 1/3 of the time but get 1/3 of the results..if you get my point.

You leave them on all the time. Otherwise, what is the point in having them?
