Uv And Skimmer

was wondering as im off work today whether to hook up my skimmer and uv light? Tank is cycling at the moment.

Neither is needed but I would run the skimmer to remove any unwanted protein from the tank.

skimmer yes, this may help clean up some of the die off from your LR.
no real point in the UV though

What skimmer would be suitable to use with a eheim 1103 marine pump?
My second hand aqua medic turboflor 3000 is not producing bubbles? I put this down to the fact that it comes with an ocean runner 3500 which is 3500l/ph my eheim is 2700l/ph guess its not powerful enough?
