and i dont see why instant ocean wouldn't work. i do know that its meant for saltwater tanks, so i dont know what else is in it besides salt, maybe try asking on a salt water forum or ask in tropical chit chat.

Sea salt and the aquarium salt used for freshwater fish are not the same and cannot be used interchangeably. Aquarium salt is basically pure NaCl, whereas sea salt contains many other trace elements; some of which are harmful to our freshwater friends.

Well, got everything on my list except the maracide and the betta... i was too late for the betta. THEY KILLED IT! I was furious! I ranted for a while, then left before i broke out in the store. Forgot the maracide. Figures. Well, I'm going to have to get it the next time I go.
