Hi, when using two cannisters for diy yeast mix, how often do you need to change each cannister?

At the moment i only use one and change the mix every 5 days, so when using two could you change one on the third day, then the other cannister 3 days after that?

That would mean 6 days between changes in the same cannister, hope this makes sense.

Cheers Gordon.

Its a case of what works for you wont work for me.

As soon as the mixture starts to slow then it should be changed.

You may be changing yours earlier or later than this
So you might be able to overlap them for the week i.e. wednesdays one and Sundays the other.

Its all down to the mix, room temperature, length of hose etc as it differs for each of us just how long the mix lasts before it slows down.

Dont make the mistake of changing after it is very slow or you lose the consistency. Also don't change it when it is at prime (normally on day 2 onwards) as you will waste the time on day 1 when it is building up

I use two cannisters in my tank. One changed on Saturday one on Wednesday works great. I only use one diffuser with a shut-off gang valve. When i change out one cannister i just shut that side of the valve off, remix, reattach, wait an our or two for it build a little pressure, then open the valve back up and the bubbles never stop....works like a charm. :good:

The only problem i've had using 2 cannisters and one diffuser is that the white fluff builds up within a couple days and the bubbles bypass the ladder.... floating straight to the top. I just brush it off with a tiny filter tube brush every day or so. It's getting to be a pain but think i'm gonna switch to pressuized. -_-

I'm setting up the same system for my tank. Has anyone tried an air stone for diffusing? I'm considering trying it, based upon the ease and it making very small bubbles.

Thanks. ;)
