i was reading the news looking at the bbc webpage when i came across this :S

any views opinions and think of all the declorinator for that if its constantly bringin in new water

I am not sure of the ethics of this at all, or even as you say, dechlorinating. If these were fluffies, ie dogs or cats etc, there would be public outrage. Doesn't it come along the lines of using fish to cycle. I would have thought the biggest threat would be germs anyway!!! Chlorine should sort most.

i don't like it either

why make difference between the importance of fish and the importance of dogs? they're both animals, even though fish are less evolved than dogs they don't have the right to use them in such manner

i wonder what the Protection of Animals will do for it :sly:

Honestly, I don't find it TOO bad. It's not like they are constantly being bombarded with poor conditions. And in the event that they are hit with some toxins, we're all in it together, cause the water supply is impacted as well.

Ideally one would hope that neither the fish or people will have to experience any of this. :)

this is somehow related to the GLO FISH experiments... they were(/are ?) used as water indicators

I'm with skiltrip. I don't think it is that bad. they want the water to be good condition so the water isn't going to be very bad and there will be plenty of space for them to swim.
:D

i dont think its bad either.

there not jus getting fresh tap water dumped on them.

there living in a tank that has water from there natural home being freshly pumped in.

its actually a better setup than most of us have for our fish.

and about the whole toxins thing, they would experience the same in the wild (thats thw whole point) so atleast here theyll get looked after when they realise somethings wrong with the water.
