plz help i just put love fish anti bacteria and fungus treatment in my tank and all my fish are dying striaght away upto i losted five 2 barbs 2 redhoney gourmaniand 1 guppy, i followed all the directions? should i take the rest of my fish out has i have 4 more plus about 40 new born fry..

Massive water change; leave just enough for the fish to swim upright and put some carbon in your filter if you have some. Then do another water change the same size.

Make sure the new water is warmed and dechlorinated. Do it NOW!

thanks will do now ..

i spoke to pets at home bout my fish losing part of the their tail and the told me use this?

done some water change still got 3 mollies 2 guppy and all my fry still alive all doing well eating and swimming fine, plus 1 red honey and 2 melon barbs in a small tank with nothing in it,when will it be safe release my other fish or should i take my other fish out.

How big were your water changes? How are the fish in the medicated tank looking now? Showing any signs of distress at all?

What do you mean by "some" water change? How much? You should have done a huge water change, taking out enough old water so the fish have just enough water to swim upright. Then replace that water with dechlorinated water that's close to the same temp as the water you just took out.

Then do it again. If you have carbon or charcoal for your filters, use that for a couple days to get all traces of the medication out of the tank.

Then change the water again.

You should be doing decent water changes at least once a week, probably 50%, and that should keep your fish from getting fin rot. Don't overfeed your fish ever.

How big is your tank?

i done about 60-75% water change,do i need do more? my fish in the other tank was floating on there sides i did lose 2 but the rest are now doing fine.should i put the carbon filters back in my filter as when i put the medication in it said i should remove them?

I'd do another big water change and put the carbon filters back in for a day or two. Do another water change tomorrow and see how they're doing.

ok , ill do another big water change now, thanks forur advice guys, does anyone know why this would of happened in the first place, i followed all the directions but as soon as i put the mixture in most my fish started dying,i need phone up the shop but all they said was that they would phone me back but hasnt upto now ?

I don't know anything about that particular medication, but I've found that any medication is a bit scary. You need to do all sorts of research before using any, and frankly, I've found most of the time that the folks on this forum are very generous with their knowledge and will help way beyond what any LFS will do. Please keep in mind that the staff of an LFS has but a single goal, and that's to sell things to you. It's the goal of any retail salesperson. The people here on the forum love their fish and are happy to help you, no charge.

How long have you had your tank? How big is it? How did you cycle it?

its 3 ft x 1ft x 1ft ive had about 4-5 month now(with fish) and everything has been fine upto now. i used the fishless cycle and lefed it without fish for six weeks i also do 25%water change twice a week ..
