Thats defiantly ammonia and it sounds like your over stocked! Do a 75% water change ASAP!

Well, to mee it sounds like your over stocked. Which means ammonia is defiantly going to be in there. What test kit you using? Is it in date? How often do you do water changes?

API liquid test kits and well in date , and do a gravel clean and water change every week without fail

Does your internal filter have a spray bar? or do you have an air pump. If you have a spray bar move it above the water line get some more air in the tank, if not try an position the nozzel to it breaks the water more. With the fish struggling to breath and the corys & catfish being near the surface some extra air is needed it should releave the struggling to breath, especially with the amount of fish. Personally I would also do a wc.

How much water do you take out? Have the fish got any sign of disease?

This would be my first move, sounds like low O2 in a tank that is without a doubt overstocked with a pair of firemouths if it has been that way for 6 months.

Yeah i would so what start suggested and do a water change too. You need to really think about restocking your tank and getting rid of the firemouths and upsidedown catfish. We could give some suggestions on stocking too. I would personally suggest getting rid of the corys and getting some pygme corys.

Do you have another tank? if not get one for the molly fry, I personally think fry nets/traps are a bad idea, you are better off keeping fry in a seperate tank :good:
