my largest silver shark has " bloodshot" fins, the top one is the wosrt and it now started on the bottom side ones ( noticed about 20 mins ago)

he is behaving normally tho, i put 4 new smaller ones in with him 3 days ago but they all look fine
he is in a 48inch x 13inchx 15 inch tank with 4 silver sharks 3 guppies 1 male fighting fish ( no bother to anyone that i have seen)

im really worried is it finrot or something else, please please tell me what i can do, no way do i want to loose him, i love him to bits

EXTRA INFO**

about a week ago i put him back in his tank without turning the heater on first,(water was about 40`f after emtying to change gravel) he turned like dead, but i put him in another tank and he was fine after a while ( i know stupid mistake)
he also jumped out of the bucket he was in while the change was going on

How many gallons is the tank.
Water stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Bloodshot fins can be bad water quality to septicemia.

34 gallons
all test are fine ammonia 0

will he be ok till lfs opens tommorow what shall i do now??

please explain septicemia, isnt that blood poisoning??

Yes and thats why melafix is not good, its only good on cuts and wound.
Septicemia very hard to cure once it has progressed even with anitbiotics.

Water change for now.
Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
Invest in a master liquid test kit of your own.

after everything he went through, he died over night last night,im so gutted, yesterday he was so playfull he was in the bubbles like a junvinile, i really thought he had gotten over what ever had made him ill......wish i knew what had killed him, but i am happy hes not suffering anymore

Sadly seen it all to often that a fish looks like its on the way back to good health to go down hill again.
Probably septicemia.
R.I.P.

Bacterial infections of any kind are difficult to treat properly in the UK due to the strict control of anti-biotic treatments, you can control the problems but you can't cure them and eventually the disease wins.

yes i was half expecting it as you did warn me, have decided to get rid of that tank now and the other sharks as my hearts just not in there anymore, dont feel like i would have the confidence to keep anything in there now, not after what he went thru
