Ur relationship with your LFS?

Anyways, a recent thread got me thinking.....

What are your relationships with your LFS like?

I mean, i have two i normally visit, and one knows my whole life story of fish keeping and ViceVersa! And the one down the road is a good mate and orders cheap as chips fish for me, gives me discount, and offers to do all sorts for me. Like order plants in bulk so i get them cheap. And all in all, we are all good friends who know each other by name now.

What are your LFS like to you etc?

well the one closest to me gives me free fish sometimes and discounts,and also know everything about my tank and stuff like that

the one that i work,well before i got a job at it,gave me free plants and chap set ups and called me when ever they got a new shippment of fish

Depends which one The 2 my friend works at I get free fish, and at one of the one he works at they know me. The thrid one they helped me find my cockatoos. I also might be gettin a job there.

At my only real LFS (by that I mean not Petsmart or Walmart), it varies from employee to employee. Well, actually I guess there's only one person there I get along with. The one that is nice with me always lets me know when they're expecting pretty sailfin mollies, and she always asks how my other fish are doing. The rest of the people that work there are pretty jerky. Cool chick wasn't working today, and I kind of ended up worsening my relationship with the rest of the employees that work there today when I stormed out after seeing they had started ordering dyed fish....

Now as for Petsmart and Walmart, I have pretty awesome relations. One of the employees at the Petsmart here went to high school with me and now we go to the same college. She's kinda sorta one of those friends you only talk to at school, know what I mean?

The main fish lady at Walmart freakin rocks! She knows me by name and actually has a pretty good recolection of the stocks in all my tanks. She tells me all the numbers of fish she orders the day she places the order, so I can go in on Fridays and see em all.

Sounds like you three have the same relation ship as me with my lfs.

Some ppl dont seem to have it though.

I remember the one time i moved house they emptied one of their display tanks for my fish to use while i moved houses. That was cool.

Any negatives?

Actually I just remembered a negative relationship with another local "fish" store (I say "fish" because the tanks are so covered in algae I can't actually tell if there's fish in them). I was so horrified with all the animals (birds, fish, rodents, amphibians, lizards) conditions that I was just walking around the store open mouthed. One of the employees comes over and says "Can I help you??" so I just gave him this horrible you-need-to-not-talk-to-me look, and said "No but you can help these animals" and walked out. They don't like me so much cause I drop in every once in a while to complain about the conditions.

I looked at a lfs from in our yellow paper, and had a look inside and told them what i thought. It was fowl. Yuck, i aint going back, and ill tell evryone i know too.
