I have a Whisper 20 running on my planted 20 gallon. Lately, I've noticed that I don't get a lot of flow/movement on the side of my tank opposite the filter due to a large chunk of driftwood and a giant Sword plant. So, I went and bought a sponge filter and stuck it in the corner. Has anyone else done this? If so.....comments?

It seems to work well and I like how the intake and bubbles move my Swords around. The extra filtration and flow on that side of the tank should (by theory) help with CO2 dispersal and the overall "uniformity" of water quality.....

Anyway.....maybe I"m thinking too much :hyper:

Adding more filtration to a tank is NEVER a bad idea. Poor circulation to any part of the tank just allows buildup of waste and debris. I always run two completely seperate filters in each tank, so that I only change (clean) one at a time, and not interupt the biological filtration.
