Hi all

I've just had my first tank and have a question.

I have an under gravel filter, with the uplift tube in the corner. The uplift tube uses a power head to pump the water up.

However, the water coming out of the uplift tube disturbs the surface a lot, so when I feed my fish, the flakes fall to the bottom very quickly. Should I redirect the ejecting water from the uplift tube to the corner of the tank?

currently i'm switching off the power head when i'm feeding, which I now believe is a big no no. Also, im getting a bit of odour from the water.

Thanks

Dylan :D

Can you turn the tube towards the glass, is the tank cycling.

No it won't harm anything, it helps break the current when hitting the glass.

alternatively if you still have too much agitation while feeding you could turn off the pump while they're eating and turn it back on when they're done ;) I have to do that in my tank with my overhang filter
