I am going to have a look at it first, before i place a bid, as she doesnt live that far away from me, maybe 10 mins or so, i have never bought a second hand tank before, so i want to make sure its perfect for my little fishes lol

I bought a tank second hand not too long ago. I kept the old filter and just washed it out with a mild bleach solution and bought new filter pads. Everything has worked out great so far. My fish are doing well. Will the seller let you come and look at it before you buy? That would be great!

Best of luck!

I have a juwel 180 and a juwel 240.
The 180 is 8 months old and cost only £200 new with the cabinet stand. It was a sale item and you will find that the larger fish stores will sell them at this price often. So while it is a better deal than new, it's not absolutely brilliant.
Incidently, I only paid £270 for the 240 litre tank at the same store.
The cabinet, lights, hood, filter and heater all come with the package.
Hope this helps

Claire,

Just looked at the link and the picture isn't a Rio 180, looks like the Vision 180 with the curved front (that's the one I've got), if it is that one then that's a good price.

Which is why I'd never bid on anyting that I haven't personally seen or have an "original" picture of. How often have I not questioned sellers about stock pictures only for them to say "oops you are right - that's not really what I'm selling" :grr:

Claire, you can almost guarantee that no one else will bid on a tank that's a year old with a starting price of £150 - and no original picture even :/
I wouldn't say £150 is a "deal" but if the tank is in very good condition the price is OK. You'd almost certainly have to buy some new lighting pretty soon as the bulbs need to be replaced every year.

Referring back to your other post in the emergency section, you will have to cycle the tank as I'm very sure she won't have the tank fully stocked with the filter running by the time you come to collect it. The bacteria will start to die off within a few hours without fish so you'd certainly have to cycle the tank.

But if you get the tank, you'll be a "cycle expert" by then

Yea, the curved ones cost more.
I dont like the juwel internal filter, so I changed mine for a exernal canister. Other than that I like the tank. I have the Rio 125.
