Upgrading lights?

Hi all
I have a 35-gallon tank with the stock 20W florescent tube and I have decided to upgrade to lighting.
I can go for a 3-bulb canopy with 25W per tube.
Or a 2-bulb canopy at 55W per tube.
Is there such a thing as too much light?
Will there be a significant improvement from 75W to 110W?

Well, if you calculate your WPG, you have:
for 75 watts~ about 2.1 wpg.
for 110~ about 3.1 wpg

So yes, it would be ok to upgrade to 110 watts. Do you have co2 on the tank, or no?
