I am some pics on all 3 or my males and a couple cruddy ones of the spawning nest, You can kinda make out the nest but not really. I could not get a good picture of Penny though.

how do you get them to make the nest? when i try to breed them, they never build one, even if i put the female in sight he just flares at her, but never builds

Have you tried a half a paper cup? It helps. Some males are spoiled and wont make one though

a styrofoam cup works better. IMO

yes i use a styrofoam cup, but he just wont build one. He is always near the styrofoam cup though and he always looks like he is blowing bubbles, but when i go look, there are no bubbles!

probably like a year and a half or so

He definitely wants the female tho cause he is flaring at her and he is "showing off" and trying to get to her, so i dont know whats wrong...

did you raise it yourself or buy it somewhere, and if so from where?

i got it from my local fish store. They are definitely reliable because i got my other male betta from the same place and he has bred about 4 or 5 times.

sometimes when you get them from lfs they are already 1 year + maby 2

hmmm he seems pretty small to be old tho (he is a lot smaller than my other male was when i used to breed him)
