A few months back, in fact almost a yr ago I added 4 platies to my tank. Skip the large female is the only survivor sadly, but she has produced so many fry.

The first few batches the numbers were low, these have now grown into adult fish and the babies are having babies now! It's like a teenage chav party!

Skip banged out another 50 odd fry recently, there were loads in the tank and then a few days later one of the babies had more! Now I have about 80-100 fry chilling in the tank. I'm gonna grow them up and donate to my LFS.

I even managed to watch one of my babies give birth recently, another pleasure of fish ownership.

That's awesome. My molly recently had her first batch of fry and it's been very interesting to watch the entire process.
Breeding fish is definitely my favorite part of having an aquarium. You never know how the genes will combine and what coloration / shape your fry will have.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet.

If you're really lucky you can suck up to your LFS and trade the fry for more adults (like, six or eight full-grown fish for one). Doesn't sound like you need any more though

That's pretty cool! I've only had a few fry survive in my tanks (keep getting eaten!) but I didn't have room for too many anyway so that's ok. Now I have a big tank for my mollies to breed a bit. Two of the inhabitants were born in my other tank so that's pretty neat. I have yet to see them actually being born, tho.
Good luck with your fry! So you're like a great grandma to hundreds, eh? lol

Or a great Granddad as the case maybe!

Changed from a Fish R Fun GPS900 (150Ltr) last night to my new Juwel RIO240 (240Ltr)

Took ages to catch the last couple of fish. My Pleco was particularly happy to be netted!

Had fun with a clown loach and bristle nose Plec, but I’ll save that for a new thread.
