Update Photo Of My Rio180 Planted

Well he's not found me yet.

Anyway here is what it looks like now after 14 days of regrowth, and I have also pruned the larger leaves off the echinodorus red flame, echinodorus cordifolius 'marble queen' and the nymphae:-

As you can see the sloping effect has gone, you can also see why I prune the right side of the tank so harshly. :shifty:

What's the low-growing stuff at the front, looks like grass?

Dwarf hairgrass, i think. :good:

Yup, it's eleocharis parvulus, the smaller variety of dwarf hairgrass. Lovely little low growing plant that makes a really nice 'lawn' in time. Not too demanding with light either, but grows better with more intense lighting if kept in deep tanks like mine.

Ah, the slope is gone.. That's some great growth though. Time for another pruning. :sly:

No joking! Such is the down side of highly lit, CO2 injected, planted tanks. They're like the 4th bridge, you finish pruning one end and the other end needs pruning again. lol

by the time you read this i will be on a jet on my way to england to steal that tank. beautiful tank,as you can tell i'm a little jealous, but only a little :D

lol Thanks. Anybody can have a tank like mine though, there's no secret involved or anything. Just requires a bit of work and the right equipment and fertilisers. lol If I changed something now, or stopped doing the maintenance, it would turn into an ugly mess pretty quickly.

That is one hell of a tank mate, should be you proud! wish when i do my tank it looks half like that i will be happy !

Ben.

Thank you. I've pruned the jungle at the back a bit today, and the other day I planted some echinodorus tenellus taken from my shrimp tank (no CO2 and sporadic ferts in there, so although I have lots of it it's not as gorgeous in there as it should get in my planted, still have lots left in the shrimp tank though as it is very fast growing) in a space in the front right area, in this tank I don't like bare substrate. :D

Still no slope, although there is a bit more shape again in the back.
