We're settling down now and getting to know each other. In fact, the ticos could well be on their way to becoming my favourite fish. The sheen on their bodies is absolutely beautiful and they move well.
Three batches of fry have been born, in total I think there are about 8 fry swimming around, but there could well be more. At least one female is still pregnant. And hopefully I'll get at least one male out of these babies.
The two oldest are doing really well, half grown by now. The effect this has had on the three surviving adults is very positive, the babies clearly act as dither fish. The adults are now out all over the tank, except that the dominant female is a bit of a bully, so chases the other two off. They don't seem to go for the fry at all, so it seems to be about hierarchy rather than food. The two half grown fry chase each other but not the little ones.
The adults are now taking all sorts of food, including crushed flakes and veggies. They just needed a bit of extra cosseting during their settling in. Lesson learnt- I should have bought a bigger group. Six just wasn't enough, particularly after three succumbed to the stress of the move.

These are loverly little fish and the fry are so tiny!!!!

How ever the adults do not tend to eat the fry which is nice ;)
Are u feeding any newly hatced brine shrimp for the fry?

They gorw rearly good on it.

Afraid I haven't been organised enough. But they seem to be growing well on what they are getting: a mix of infusoria and algae (heavily planted tank), TetraDelica jellied foods stirred out in water, Liquifry and mashed pea. The older ones are also taking small live daphnia and crushed flakes.
