My swordtail had 11 in the end. a few have been eaten because she had a couple before i got her in the breeding tank. The fry are doing very well and i will keep you posted on how they are doing.

Does anyone know how long they should be kept in the breeding compartment for. i have released the mother back in to the tank :hyper:  :D

Amen to that! My first batch that I was able to save (13) were released in small batches over 2 1/2 weeks they all got gobbled. :byebye: So I got me a grow out tank.

i have molly fry that i put back in the community tank after about 1.5 weeks and platy fry who have survived on their own from the start. get some java moss and some large pebbles/small rocks and you should have a good number of survivors...

BTW, i just looked in the tank and my platy goldilocks had a few more babies...i saw some teeny eyes peering out at me from the java moss today. she is eating and interacting with the rest of her tank mates, but she still looks pretty big to me!!! more on the way, i guess!
