Up and coming 55gal comunity

Once i move into the new house i was going to set up a nice 55gal community tank in the living room. the tank im using has been around since i was a brat. I just wanted to run some fish and other stuff by you all to see what ya think.

Fish:
3 clown loaches
2 pearl gourami
2 oplain gorami
1 Emperor Pleco
5-8 tetras of some kinda
Angels maybe?
trio or 2 of swords if room allows

Any comments/concerns/recomendations about the fish selction would be a great help. Also would sand be a good choice for this tank instead of gravel?

sounds good

except if you get angels make sure the tank is over 18 inches high and if you get tetras with the angels make sure theyre not neons otherwise theyll be lunch

The 55 has housed Angels befor so im not worried about that. what type of tetras would be best/compliment their tanks mates the best?
