Hey guys,

My friend just gave me a betta fish because he didnt want it anymore. So i bought it a new betta cube kit until i can afford a new tank. The only thing I was wondering about was this tank does not and cannot fit a filter because its only a 0.7 gallon cube :( and I need to get him in it right away because he is in a bag. I was wondering if i can fill it with water and add water conditioner and let him in. My other concern is having no filter i am going to be using sand as my substrate would this be alright and if not i guess i can use the river pebbles that came with the kit.

Thank You !!

you can just use the river pebbles. He would be fine without a filter as long as you change some of the water out frequently. They seem to do fine in the little cubes, but are happier in a bigger tank so it's up to you what you want to do with him that way. A bigger tank with a filter is easier to take care of though.

I suggest posting in the Betta section here. Looads of Betta peeps there can advise you.

TBH a 0.7 jar is too small for any aquatic creature bar perhaps a single tiny cherry shrimp or pond snail. Betta's need between a 2-3gallon+ tank. A 3 liter cub is not much bigger than a coca cola bottle. If you don't want the fish then rehome him to someone who does want him (there's a buy & sell section on the forum).
